The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made significant strides in the investigation into Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam's secretary, Sanjeev Lal, and his servant, Jahangir, by arresting them under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Following the recovery of Rs 35 crore during Monday's raid on Jahangir's premises, the ED intensified its efforts, leading to the overnight questioning and subsequent arrest of Lal and Jahangir. The duo has been produced in court as the investigation progresses.
On the second day of raids, the ED expanded its scope, targeting seven new locations linked to the case. Among the locations raided were residences of builders in Ranchi, including those near Singh Mor and Ratu, and the ITI bus stand. Additionally, the ED raided the premises of contractor Raju Singh in the Doranda area, further advancing its probe into alleged financial irregularities.
